It is with great sadness that the family of Diana Catlin announces her passing on March 22, 2018, at the age of 74. She will be lovingly remembered by her high school sweetheart and husband of 55 years, Gary, and her daughter, Kristen (Matt). She will also be greatly missed by her two grandchildren, Lexi and Cooper. Diana leaves behind her brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Karen; brother-in-law Craig; four nephews, Matthew, Michael, Patrick, and Brandon; and niece, Danielle. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Heather (Troy); her sister, Kathy; and her parents, Edward and Arlene.

Family was extremely important to Diana, and she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her passion in life, and she always took great pleasure in every moment she spent with them. A Detroit native, after moving to Livonia in 1972, Diana became very active in the Livonia Historical Society and later became immersed in genealogical research about her ancestors. She spent much of her time on the Lake Michigan property in Cecil Bay, west of Mackinaw City, that she and her husband bought in the 1960s. After she retired as a Farmington elementary school secretary, she and her husband spent the majority of the time at their cottage, where she could enjoy the view of the Upper Peninsula and Mackinac Bridge.

Memorial services will be held at the Fred Wood Funeral Home in Livonia on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with the family at the Fred Wood Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 1–8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Diana’s memory can be made to the BRCA Foundation or the MSU Veterinary Medical Center’s Lucky Fund.
