Gary Watson Newlin

September 15, 1943-May 8, 2017

Beloved husband of Sarah (Sally) passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017. Gary was the loving father of Tamara Stedman (Matthew) and Laura Newlin, and fantastic "Papa" of Sarah and Abby Stedman. He is survived by his brother, Edward Newlin (Julia "Max") of Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents DeWitt E. Newlin and Ruby Watson Newlin. Gary was wholeheartedly dedicated to his life's work of teaching children. In his free time, he enjoyed socializing with his colleagues, friends and family and took great pleasure in the natural beauty of his carefully tended gardens. He was a happy guy, loved by all who met him.

Visitation Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 2-8pm at Fred Wood Funeral Home, 36100 Five Mile , Livonia, MI 48154.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Gleaners Food Bank or Wounded Warriors.
