Erna Heck, 90, entered her heavenly home on March 15, 2024. Cherished Mother of Heidy (Robert), Walter Junior and the late Harry. Proud Oma of Steven Heck, Blake, Brady and the late Bobby Nance. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.

Erna was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her passions included cooking and gardening. She enjoyed making her special food for family and their friends. She always looked forward to Spring and the start of many projects in her garden, such as growing vegetables and expanding her beautiful flower garden.

Erna was the youngest of 6 children born to Matthaus and Katharina Holl. All sibling preceded her in death. Born in Lithuania in 1933, the family was forced by the Soviets to move and settle in Germany. Erna emigrated to the United States in 1951. She was proud of her German Heritage. She began as a domestic worker, went on to be a UAW seamstress in an auto factory, then became a business owner for years. After that, she continued her education to receive an Associate’s Degree in Accounting where she was on the Honors List. She worked in that field for a number of years.

Erna was a Livonia Police Department Volunteer Probation Officer for 35 years. She enjoyed traveling to many places in the world with her family and friends. Special memories remain of when she took the whole family on a cruise in 2007.

Erna was a long-time member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. She was active in Sunday School teaching, Vacation Bible School and felt a special calling in her time dedicated to meal prep for the Family of God Ministry. Her strong faith and love were evident in all she did. Her loved touched many lives.
