Betty Patterson

Passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of November 7, 2017.  Born October 5, 1931.  Beloved wife of Bill for 64 years.  Loving mother of Louise Uphoff (Tom) and the late Tom Patterson (2009).  Most beloved grandmother of Chelsea and Courtney.  Dear sister of Del Morton, the late Marion Shontz (1979) and Gary Morton. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.  She will be sadly missed by her friends from the bridge groups, Walnut Creek Country Club and the Farmington Family YMCA.  Betty worked in the Farmington Public School System, where she met her good friend Nancy.  She enjoyed working in her garden, painting, playing golf, travel (to play more golf), but most of all she loved her granddaughters (her “girls”) and they loved her.  Betty was tough, fierce, loving, loyal, thrifty, giving, and always spoke her mind.  Many thanks to her doctors, Beaumont staff and hospice, BrightStar Care and especially Nurse Nancy.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends may attend the memorial visitation on November 16, 2017 at Fred Wood Funeral Home, 36100 Five Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48154 from 1:00 – 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaumont Health Foundation, Hospice Fund.
