David Griffiths Loosle quietly returned home to his Heavenly Father Sunday, March 31, 2019. Born July 6, 1938 to Reuben and Sylvia Loosle in Logan Utah where he was raised. He attended Logan High School and then received his BS, MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University. David participated in ROTC throughout high school and his university years. His military career concluded with his active service in Warren, MI.
Following his military service, David went to work for Ford Motor Company where he was a valued employee for 30 years. Part way through his career with Ford he began teaching math at the University of Michigan. His teaching career spanned 30 years as well.
A faithful follower of the Savior Jesus Christ, David served in various capacities for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a bishop, a counselor in the Stake Presidency and a sealer for the Detroit Temple, a position he served in for 20 years.
Kind, gentle, and loving he always set an example for all whom he met. He was quiet with a dry sense of humor that made him fun to be around. He took the greatest pleasure in being surrounded by his family. He was adored by his grandchildren, his children, his late wife Mary, and especially his surviving wife, Sharon.
He was the father of 6 children: Reed (Kerrie), Kimberly (David) Boehm, Anne (Brian) Kinross, Kristen (Darren) Shirley, Ryan (Doreen) and Nathan (Rebecca).
He was the father of 25 grandchildren: Brad, Emily, Kathyrn and Erin Loosle; Paul, Marie (Addison Floyd), Emily, Natalie, Laura and April Boehm; Gary (Odille), Darylan (Theron Adams), Jonathan and Melia Kinross; Devin (Allison Cunningham), Shelby (Grant Allen) and Spencer Shirley; Madelyn, Heather, Maxwell, Sophia, Ginger, and Raymond Loosle; Darby (Josh Beaulieu) and Quinn Loosle.
He was the great-grandfather of 6: Nikolai Loosle, Alisa Adams, Carter Beaulieu, Hadley Adams, Desmond Shirley, Addilyn Beaulieu.
He was brother to the late Marquerite (the late Lamar), Bonnie (the late Dick), the late Katie, the late Beth (the late Allen), the late John (the late Joan), the late Jarvis, Winnie (the late Paul), Ruby (Jerry), James (the late Sherrie), and the late Joseph (Faye) and brother in law to Sharon (Cliff) Carter, Salley (Vernal) Sessions, Becky (Karl) Snowball, Patricia (Cliff) Otis, Lowell Huber and Lisa (Richard) Bowerman) as well as Randy (Sandy) Johnson and Julie (Wally) Neilson.
He is cherished by all and will be missed greatly.
