Frank Bernock age 92 of Dearborn. Cherished husband of the late Eleanor for 66 years. Beloved father of Donna (Mike) Koszycki, Diane (Bob) Walters and the late Dale. Proud grandpa of Aaron, David, Mark, Emily, Paul, Grant and great-grandpa of Joshua, Caleb, Lyla, Juilian, Rose, Emma, Lily, Wayne and Wyatt. Dear father-in-law of Deirdre Bernock. Also survived by many other loving family and friends. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
Franks world was his family, music and fishing. The family would spend most of their summers exploring the country in their camper and on one special occasion an added surprise trip to Disney Land. During any trip planned or unplanned Frank would find a place to fish, anywhere where he could drop a line.
Frank loved his music. At a young age he took music lessons and learned to play the trumpet. He with great pride played for a great majority of his 92 years of life.
Frank is an honored WWII Army Veteran. He came into the war at the end. However, during his time there was an army band that recruited him to play with them. He marched with the band through the streets of Tokyo playing his trumpet.
Frank was also a respected Detroit Firefighter for 25 years. For many years he played with the Firefighter Band in parades in downtown Detroit. Frank was proud to make the rank of Lieutenant before his retirement.
Frank was also a very proud member of the St. Francis Council #4401 of the Knights of Columbus. He even had the honor of being named Grand Knight.
Frank above all loved his family. Due to his wife’s love of gardening he took up vegetable gardening and growing and grooming bonsai trees. We could continue to go on about his many talents and hobbies of which there were many.
Thank you Frank and Eleanor for teaching us so very much you are truly loved and will be deeply missed.
