My sympathy to the family. I knew John at Ford Transmission. He was so kind and thoughtful. I was pleased to see him again when he was honored at Mass at St. Kenneth for his 90th birthday.

Thoughts and prayers are with my cousins after hearing of Uncle John's passing. It is with fond memories that I think about the many family gatherings hosted by Uncle John and Aunt Marion when I was younger. Although I have seen Uncle John rarely since leaving the Detroit area, I have always thought he was a steady rock among his family.

Sincere condolences to the Schramm family. Gary bowled on the Livonia Transmission Mens League for several years .... he laughs every time he remembers John saying he had the oldest team on the league and thus checked the obits the morning of bowling to see if he had a full team. John was such a gentlemen and a wonderful person. While I don't know the members of his family per se, I used to work with Dee at EEE. Our best to all his family.

To the Schramm family: The 2017 Shiftless 5 send our heartfelt condolences to you and yours. It was a pleasure bowling with John. He was a hoot to bowl with. After an errant shot you were likely to be greeted with one of his many battle cries.... "Hit the head pin dummy" always cracked me up. We still use it today. John will always be remembered as a great competitor, friend, and teammate. We will carry that spirit with us as we continue on.

My deepest condolences to John's family, especially to Lee. I've bowled with John for close to 20 years. May God grant you his peace as you journey through this dark time as a family.

We will miss you and your enthusiasm, John! Godspeed, sir.

Sad news, I had been thinking I should call Jonny for the last few months, I wish I had. I'm sorry I can't be there with you to say good bye. I often remember the family gatherings at Mother Herrick's, with all the kids playing. Miss you all and hope you're well.
Love,
Aunt Virginia

Remembering a favorite uncle is easy to do but hard to put into words. As a child I remember, all the family picnics where Uncle John was the star athlete of softball games as well as one of the instigators of a lot of the other fun. In later years, he was always a there for a good talk over a few beers. I’ve been blessed with having a wonderful group of Aunts and Uncles, Uncle John was among the best!
