Lydia’s family and friends will gather on Monday, July 29th from 4pm to 8 pm at

Fred Wood Funeral Home  36100 Five Mile Road (E. of Levan), Livonia.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on July 30th at 11 am, visiting before the funeral service at 10 am. 

Lydia Reid, of Plymouth MI and Fraserburgh, Scotland, died peacefully on July 16, 2019, at the age of 100 years. She was born on December 25, 1918, in Broadsea, Fraserburgh, to James and Elspeth (Crawford) Ritchie. At the age of four, she left Scotland for America with her family, and they settled in Michigan. They moved back to Scotland during the Great Depression. There she met and married her husband, Joseph Reid, and together they raised three children in Fraserburgh. In 1956, she again crossed the Atlantic as the family emigrated to Michigan. Although she lived a long, full life, she never forgot her beloved Scotland. 

She will be lovingly remembered by son Joseph Reid (Judy Loft), and daughter Lynn Saint-Onge, along with grandchildren Joe, Bridget, Lynn, David, Sandi, Jeanette, and Ben, 15 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind many other family members and friends. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, son James and his wife Nancy, daughter-in-law Nan, and each of her eight brothers and sisters.
