Bob, as he was called, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on October 18th at Angela Hospice in Livonia surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Rosemarie for 65 wonderful years. Loving father of Bob (Karen) Marijanovich, Bonnie (Walter) Ordus, Kathy (Chuck) Fox, Karen (Bob) Skender, Anthony (Lori) Marijanovich, and Georgann Perkins. Cherished grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of 10. Dear brother of John (Debbie) Marijanovich. He leaves behind many loving family members and friends.

Bob was born on March 8, 1933 in Detroit to the late Anton and Mary Marijanovich. He lived in Detroit as a youngster and the family later moved to Dearborn where he attended Fordson High School.  When Bob was 17 he felt very fortunate because his mother gave birth to his only sibling, John Marijanovich. John always looked up to his big brother.  Bob took on an even bigger role in John’s life when their father Anton passed away in January 1957.  Bob and John despite having a 17 year age difference, were always very close. 

Bob played offensive guard in football and third base in baseball at Fordson.  He worked in the morning hours at JL Hudson as a printer and attended school in the afternoon.  That is where he met the love of his life, Rosemarie (Raymond) Marijanovich. She was a hall monitor and saw him walking into the school looking older with a scruffy beard and black leather jacket.  She stopped him and didn’t believe he was a student.  Bob laughed and walked with her to the office where a secretary greeted him by saying “Hi Bob!” Bob liked Rose’s confident attitude and looks so he asked her out and the rest is history.  

Bob and Rose graduated in June of 1952.  They were married on October 4, 1952 at St. Barbara’s Church in Dearborn, Michigan.  Bob was drafted and entered the U.S. Army on March 19, 1953.  He was a minefield plotter (demolitions expert) and received an honorable discharge on January 13, 1955. 

Bob, Rose and their first 4 children lived on Curtis Street in Dearborn from 1955 until 1959. Grandma (Mary Koch Marijanovich) told Bob and Rose if they had another kid they would have to move.  So when Rosemarie got pregnant with Tony, the family moved to Dearborn Heights in 1959 buying their first and only home.  Bob and Rose lived on Monroe Street for 54 years.  Bob worked at Ford Motor Company as a Lithographer (printer) for 35 years.

Bob and Rose had their 6 children attend St. Albert the Great where Bob was an usher and assisted in various school and church activities.  He was also in the Knights of Columbus and American Legion.  Bob was a coach and board member of the District 7 baseball/softball organization where his children played.  He was very involved in teaching his children about sports and sportsmanship which influenced their future development and character.

Bob loved his parents, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members. He was always supportive of anyone in the family and extended family.  Bob and Rosemarie did a great job of teaching his children the importance of family values.  We were all taught to treat all people fairly, judge them by their own personal character and not by their religion, race or culture.  He had a great sense of fairness, humility, and humor.

 Bob Marijanovich was loved by everyone.  We’ll miss you but never forget you! God Bless!
