Allan Comons

Was born on September 19, 1924 in Hamtramck, Michigan. He spent most of his childhood growing up in Winnipeg, Canada with his grandmother. He attended Cass Tech High School in Detroit before he enlisted in the Navy at age 17. He served as a fire control man first class while stationed in the Pacific. He received the WWII Victory Medal and earned five service stars during his four year naval career. Allan worked at Ford Wayne Assembly while he earned a Master’s Degree in adult education from Wayne State University.

Allan was married to his wife Lucille (Ciesielski) for 67 years before she passed away in 2018. Allan was a loving and generous father to his daughter Carolyn, her husband Robert Iannello and his two grandsons Enzo and Dino. Besides his family, Allan loved going to church (St. Thomas Aquinas -Detroit), playing golf and writing letters to family and friends.
