Barbara Erickson

Barbara Erickson of Livonia succumbed to her illness on March 6, 2023 in Northville, Michigan.

Barb’s warmth, laughter, and talent will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Barbara was a devoted wife to Donald Erickson, mother to David Erickson (Kathy Northcut) and Elizabeth Erickson-Newman (Jennifer Newman-Erickson), grandmother to Chase Newman, Adrienne Pyeatt, and Cameron Erickson, and a second mom to Loni Rimback. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Don; by her sister, Jill Brasher; and by her parents, Winifred and James Cagle.

Barb taught music in the Taylor School District, retiring in 1998. She was an avid bell-ringer and bell

choir director. After her retirement, she performed with Classical Bells numerous times throughout the

U.S. and internationally. The bell choir in heaven is lucky to have her.

Barb’s life was filled with music and laughter, whether camping with her husband and children, dining

with friends, participating in philanthropic and church activities, or enjoying time with family and

friends. Barb was so adored by all who knew her.

A celebration of life is scheduled for a later date at Newburgh Methodist Church in Livonia.
