Christine Adler was born at home in Dunmor, Kentucky, on February 26, 1926, to
Mamie and Julius Adler as the youngest of five children. When she was fourteen, she
relocated to Michigan and worked in the kitchen at Pontiac General Hospital where she
met James McNamara. They married in 1946 and made a home in West Bloomfield
where they had four children and were active members and helped build Mandon Lake
Community Church. She was a gifted cook and baker. One of her greatest joys was
working in the kitchen or her garden. She would spend summers cultivating fruits and
vegetables to preserve for winter. She would organize annual Christmas Eve parties at
her home where she would spend the preceding month carefully planning the menu and
joyfully preparing countless desserts. Christine was fervent believer in Christ and a
prayer warrior. She would not end any day without having read her Bible. Christine and
James moved to Fife Lake, MI in 1990 to enjoy their retirement and there they
established a lifelong loving church family at Rollins Church in Manton, Michigan. She
moved to Lubbock, Texas in 2010 to enjoy the sunshine but stayed in constant contact
with her family, sending homemade fudge and jam to everyone she could. She spent
her days planting roses, reading her Bible, and donating to children in need and
Christian missionaries around the world.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband James, 2016; her four siblings, Carl,
Wildon, Clayton, and Bertha. She is survived by her children, Patrick and wife Betty,
Terri and husband Robert, Daniel and wife Sue, and Jonathan and wife Kathy
(predeceased), her beloved 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, numerous
nieces and nephews, dear friends Jan Stewart, and Ken and Ruth Thibo. She is deeply
missed.

Donations to Missionaries Steve and Ginger Jordan can be made in her honor to:
