Dennis age 76 and Georgene Berent age 73 of Livonia. Dennis and Georgene were married for over 54 years. Beloved parents of Susan (Keith) Curme, Serena (Joel) Massa and Sherri (Aaron) Zabkiewicz. Proud grandparents of Kenneth, Kelli, Christopher, Alyssa, Ava, Lucas and great grandparents of Madison and Evelyn. Loving sister and brother of Dolores (Dennis) Brown, Robert Short, the late Mary Ann Hall and Douglas Berent. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Dennis & Georgene fell in love at a very young age. They were married 4 years later. They went on to raise 3 wonderful daughters, who have been for each other whenever one needed something. As we grew up and started our own families, they would burst with pride for each of our kids. They ALWAYS made sure to tell us, how much we were loved & how proud we made them. Dennis was already with a cheesy Dad joke, and had the ability to just bring a smile to your face no matter what mood you were in, because his smile never left his face. Georgene was always ready for their next adventure in their van, with their dogs. She loved sharing her conspiracy theories and sitting on their deck tending to her plants.
Life was never dull when they were around. They just loved each other & loved to surround themselves with family and friends. Though they couldn’t be together at the end, Georgene heard Dennis say to us, “I love my girls”, right before she passed. For once in their marriage he got the last words in. He fought like hell to stay for us but, in the end, they needed to be together like Romeo & Juliette.
