Donald Edwin Guy, age 99, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.

Don was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and spent many cherished years in Rapid City, Michigan. In 1944, he met the love of his life, Elaine. They were married for 63 wonderful years until her passing in 2014. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife Elaine J. Guy; his parents, Ray and Leone Guy; his siblings, Melba, Patsy, Helen, Shirley, and Sue; and his grandson, Devin.

He is survived by his sister, Irma; his children, Julie Schacht, Vicki (Keith) Schrock, and Brian (Paula) Guy; and his beloved grandchildren, David (Michelle), Matthew (Laura), Heather (Dustin), Kevin (Ali), Steven (Sarah), Justin, and Connor. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ezra, Levi, Allie, Luke, Mason, Brady, Alana, Carter, Elaina, and Kade.

Donald dedicated 40 years of service to the railroad industry, working his way through the ranks of the company now known as CSX Transportation. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in his career.

Outside of work, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. In his younger years, he even raced cars. Family was always at the center of his life, and he made it a priority to plan annual family vacations where countless treasured memories were created. Known for his remarkable skills as a handyman, Don seemed capable of fixing just about anything.

Donald will be remembered for his strong work ethic, devotion to his family, generous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished by family and friends for generations to come.

A memorial service will be held Thursday June 18th, at

St. Matthew's United Methodist Church

 30900 Six Mile Rd. in Livonia.

The family will receive family and friends at 10:30am until time of service at 11:00am.
