Doris Edwards, 85, of Livonia, died peacefully at Angela Hospice on Tuesday evening, February 1, 2022. She was born in Almont, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Green.  Doris was married to Allan Edwards for over 65 years. Doris devoted her life to family, music education and service to Mt. Hope Congregational Church.  Her passion for music led her to be a piano teacher for over 60 years with hundreds of children and adults learning from Doris.  She was an active member and officer with Livonia Area Piano Teachers Forum and taught Project Piano at Schoolcraft College for over 15 years.  Doris was a true handbell enthusiast, and active member and officer of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers.  She directed the handbell choir at her church for over 40 years and performed as a member of Classical Bells. Doris was a trained organist and held many interim positions. She also enjoyed singing in many choirs.

In addition to her loving and devoted husband, Allan, she is survived by loving children, Susan (Timothy) Haesler, Bruce (Lynn) Edwards, Clark Edwards, Sarah (Norman) Sobieralski; loving sister Martha Call, loving brother Vance (Pamela) Green, grandchildren Monica (Daniel), Christopher, Kevin, Matthew and great-grandchildren Benjamin and Sophie.  She will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Green and sister-in-law, Janet Green.

Doris enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, gardening, refinishing furniture, knitting Christmas stockings, ice skating, swimming and golfing.
