Duane Allen Trombly
Our beloved “Wayner Boy” Age 61 of Livonia, went home to be with our Lord on June 8, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Joyce Trombly, and his brother, Andrew Trombly. Adored brother of Dr. Laura Trombly, Kay Trombly, Jill (Tim) Gorman, Travis Trombly, and Clint Trombly. Loving uncle of Sean, Alison, Bryan, Josh, Alec, Trey, Abby, Ben, and Evie.
Duane was an amazingly unique, kind and truly gifted man. He had the ability to make those around him laugh and smile with each greeting spreading his happiness flawlessly in a manner only our “Wayner” could do! He stole everyone’s heart from the Get-Go! We watched our brother rise above his physical and intellectual disabilities to lead a fulfilling and happy life. No one enjoyed a good family BBQ more than Duane, and family was always very important to him. Duane taught us so much in the short time he was with us.
Duane’s needs and wishes were simple. He loved the American flag, thunderstorms, scary movies, his daily work program, calendars and wrist watches. A perfect evening for him was sitting on the porch sporting his finest WWE accessories, waving his American flag for hours while repeatedly listening to the Ghostbusters theme song. While Duane had Down Syndrome and other disabilities, it never stopped him from engaging with others and being the life of the party. He used more non-traditional ways of communicating, gestures, sounds, mimicry, and a bit of sign language. He could fully charm you and engage you in a very memorable conversation. He enjoyed making people happy, which he was able to do with ease.
Those who knew him, loved him, and he loved them. With Duane, there were no strangers. Everyone was his friend.
