Emily Marie Sydlowski

Emily Marie Sydlowski, Age 100 of Plymouth, passed away on January 1, 2026 with family by her side.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Victoria (Przybyla) Szydlowski, and her siblings Julian (infant), Jerome (Jeannette), and Eugene.  Dear sister-in-law to Margaret Szydlowski.  Loving aunt to 14 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. 

She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, and then went on to Alpena High School.  She moved to the Detroit area, and worked in the Accounting Department of Ledermann Elevator Company until her retirement.  Emily enjoyed overseas travel, with highlights being a trip to the Vatican to sing for Pope John Paul II with St. Kenneth’s church choir, and then Poland and Australia.  Her favorite place to visit was her hometown of Alpena, where she had her brother, Gene (Margaret) and their 10 children and other family, and also Uncle John Przybyla’s farm in Posen.  For the last 40 years, Emily resided in Plymouth, MI, which was a mile from her brother Jerome (Jeannette) and their 4 children.  She enjoyed playing cards, babysitting young nieces/nephews, and joining in all family fun activities.  Emily was always kind and thoughtful.  She did very well living independently until the age of 97, and then moved to assisted living.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
