Ilin Cecily (Yu) Kwang

Ilin Cecily Kwang (née Ilin Yu) of West Bloomfield, MI, passed away on August 23, 2023 at age 68, after a 18-month long battle with cancer.

Cecily was born in Hualien, Taiwan on April 23, 1955. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History From Chen Kung University. She married her college sweetheart, Yaosying Abel Kwang, in 1980, and worked as a teacher before emigrating to the United States in 1983.

In the US, she focused on raising her children, translating books from English to Chinese, and eventually worked as a dental clerk until her retirement. She was also heavily involved with her church, Chinese Gospel Church, often playing piano for worship. She loved travelling, reading, and doting on her grandchildren. Cecily and Abel were married for 43 years at the time of her death.

Cecily is survived by her husband, Abel, her son, Richard, her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Topher, and her granddaughters, Mikayla and Ellie. She is also survived by her two brothers and three sisters among other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023
