James F. Sigler Obituary

James Sigler

Passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on March 10, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to parents Clare and Alice Sigler. Beloved husband of Carmen (nee. Dewhirst) Sigler for 60 wonderful years. Loving father of Jeanette (Michael) Kreutzman, Michael (Diane) Sigler, Adina (Greg) Bodak, and Andrew (Jenny) Sigler. Cherished grandpa of Katelynn (Brendan), Lindsey (David), Hannah, Jacqueline, Christina, Carter, Gabriella, and Brooklyn. Proud G-Pop of Arya, Theo, Lorelei, and Levi. Dear brother of Richard (Marilyn) Sigler; brother-in-law of Virginia (the late Gene) Bizek, Dolores (Michael) Adrounie, Cecile (Stuart) Sacks and the late Michael (Kathy) Dewhirst. He leaves behind many other loving family members and friends.

James was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy. James also heroically served as a firefighter, paramedic and later the Fire Inspector in Redford Township. His dedication and bravery during those formative years shaped not only his character but also his unwavering love for his family and community.

His hobbies reflected the spirit of adventure and enjoyment that defined him. He was an avid fisherman and boater, relishing the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the catch. He often enjoyed time in Oscoda and on the water, sharing laughter and stories with loved ones over cold beer as they enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors. Golf was another passion of his, where he found joy in the game’s challenges and camaraderie with fellow players.

He was also known for his meticulous care of his home and yard. He took immense pride in his lawn and bushes, ensuring that they were a reflection of his dedication and attention to detail. Friends and neighbors often remarked on how beautifully he maintained his property, a testament to his hardworking nature and love for his surroundings.

He was not just a man of hobbies but a man of family. James cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, creating memories that will last a lifetime. His laughter, wisdom, and kindness created a warm home filled with love and support.
