Jessie Muller Obituary

Jessie Louden Muller, of Livonia, quietly passed away at the age of 88 on October 14, her two sons, Bart and Bill, by her side. Others in the family had already made their loving goodbyes. It was a fitting end for a woman who was fiercely loyal to her family. “She always had our back,” said her sons. In addition to her two sons, she is survived by two daughters-in-law, Shari and Sandy, five grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan), Renee (Kevin), Nicki, Jake, Kevin (Vanessa), and five great-grandchildren, Colton, Caleb, Rory, Aubrey and Owen.

Jessie was born in Scotland in 1937 and moved to the United States with her parents when she was 9 years old. She graduated from a high school in Ferndale and, at the age of 19, married LaBart “Skip” Muller. After 42 years of marriage, Skip passed away in 1998, but was never far from Jessie’s thoughts. Some of Jessie’s favorite activities included watching movies, going out to eat (as a Scottish lass, she loved her fish & chips), crocheting, shopping and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who have fond childhood memories of times spent together having sleepovers, baking Christmas cookies, going birthday shopping and playing Yahtzee. They particularly loved her well-stocked candy drawer.

As they grew older it was lunches at Bahama Breeze, sharing a glass of wine while playing Uno, and treating their own children (her great-grandchildren) to the same heartfelt hugs. Jessie continued to live in her Livonia house until a year before her death when she moved into an assisted living facility (Brookdale) in Novi where she was quick to make new friends. Highlights of her time there included watching an Elvis impersonator perform and parading around the facility with one of her granddaughters in their matching sweatsuits. Jessie will be greatly missed, but the family takes comfort in knowing that she and Skip are back together again.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a private memorial.
