Joseph L. Mitchell

Formally of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away at Angela Hospice Care center in Livonia, on June 3, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in West Branch, Michigan to Louis and Francis Mitchell on November 26, 1936. He served 4 years with the U.S. Marines and was employed by Consumers Energy for 30 years. Joseph and wife, Donna celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on June 2, 2023 with their children Dawn Mitchell and Joann (Fred) Fung, and two grandchildren Rachel (Andrew) Hofmeister and Brandon Fung. Joe was preceded in death by his brother John Mitchell, sister Lucille Schroeder and Mary Palozzolo, niece Vicky Schroeder and nephew Jeffrey Mitchell. Joe enjoyed many years in Florida upon retirement. Joe had many interests; home remodeling, hunting, golfing, and Euchre games. He was a member of St. Colette Catholic Church in Livonia.
