Margaret Boland

Margaret “Peggy” Boland, Age 96 formerly of Livonia and Redford, has passed away peacefully on July 6, 2022.  Cherished wife of the late Denis Boland.  Beloved mother of Mary (Joe) MacDonald, Denis (Lisa), Pat (Trudy), and the late Jerry (Virgie) Moloney.  Adored Nanny of Kevin (Joni) MacDonald, Erin (Jeff) Damphouse, Mira, Maeve, and Dane.  Loving Great Nanny of Griffin and Lincoln MacDonald.  Dear sister of Teresa (Chuck) Misener.  She is predeceased in death by 8 loving brothers and sisters.  She will be missed by many loving family members and friends.

Born in Kinvara County Galway Ireland in 1925. She was a graduate of Seamount College. She moved to England to become a registered nurse and worked in Paddington Hospital in London.  In 1957, Peggy, a recent widow, and her young son Jerry immigrated to the U.S. and lived in the Detroit area where she continued her career in nursing. She met and married Denis Boland in 1958. She was a lifetime member of the Father Solanus Guild and volunteered for many charitable causes at her home parish in St. Valentine’s Church in Redford Township and Catholic Central High School.  Peggy and her family enjoyed Irish cultural activities and summer trips to their cottage on Lake Huron.  Peggy was also a talented seamstress.
