Marian B. (Andres) Anton
February 15, 1943 – March 16, 2026
Marian B. Anton, age 83, of Livonia, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia surrounded by loved ones.
Born on February 15, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to Lawrence and Regina Andres, Marian grew up in Detroit and attended Precious Blood School before graduating from St. Gregory High School in 1961. She continued her education at the Detroit Institute of Business and began her career as a teller at NBD Bank.
On October 29, 1964, Marian married the love of her life, Timothy Anton, and together they built a world centered on family. She devoted herself to raising their children, Stephen and Carol, and was deeply involved in every aspect of their lives. She was a devoted volunteer in the school library, enjoyed lunches with her family and friends and loved gathering with extended family for holidays. After her husband’s untimely passing in 1993, Marian faced profound grief but continued to pour her love into her family, friends and neighbors.
Later in life, she returned to work as a lunch mom at Stevenson High School in Livonia and also worked in the mailroom at the Livonia Observer. Known for making friends wherever she went, Marian cherished the close bonds she formed with the “girls” at Stevenson, the Observer and New Dawn through St. Edith, enjoying breakfasts and lunches at Leons and Conners and trips to see plays in Canada or casino adventures. A devout Catholic, her faith sustained her through challenges, including her diagnosis with CLL in 2018, which she faced with remarkable strength, courage, and grace.
Marian loved and lived life fully—gardening and flowers, music, Sunday gatherings with family, playing online games with friends from around the world, catching up on Facebook, and traveling to Florida to visit her sister. She adored her grandchildren, grand pups, and being up north at Burt Lake surrounded by nature. Above all, she was a phenomenal cook, a second mom (“Mom Anton”) to many, and a true friend to anyone in need—always ready with a smile, a listening ear, or a kind word.
She is survived by her loving sister, Carol Meeker; her children, Stephen Anton and Gina Dick, and Carol Pierce and John Stonier; her grandchildren, Nathan Anton, Taylor Webster, and Cody Pierce and bonus grandson Jack Stonier; her grand dogs, MacGyver and Whiskey Lou; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family. Marian was predeceased by her beloved husband, Timothy Anton; her brother, Lawrence Andres; her parents, Regina and Lawrence Andres, her daughter-in-law, Traci Anton and many other cherished extended family members and friends.
Marian’s kindest heart, unwavering love, strength and ability to brighten any room will live on in the countless lives she touched. Her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with Tim and those who went before her. Memorial visitation will be at Fred Wood Funeral Home in Livonia on Sunday March 29th from 4-8 pm. Funeral will be at St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia on Monday March 30th with viewing at 10:00 am and Mass at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the CLL Society, https://cllsociety.org/donate-to-cll-society/, Haven of Love Dog Rescue, https://havenoflovedogrescue.com/ or a charity of your choice.
