Michael J. Pucher (Mike) was 81 when he died on November 6, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Elaine for over 57 years. Cherished father of Michael (Wendy), Linda (Dave) VanGoethem and Patrick (Sue). Proud grandpa of Amanda, Royce, Drew, Sydney and Grace. Dearest brother of Bernie (Nancy) Pucher and the late Jim Pucher. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.
What a great life he had. He was born in Detroit on February 18, 1941. He grew up in Livonia and attended ‘Our Lady of Sorrows’ Catholic HS in Farmington, MI where he played on the HS football team. During this time he was a caddie at Meadowbrook CC and could be seen riding his bike down 8 mile, to and from the course! He did well enough in school and on the course to earn himself a scholarship to MSU from the Evan Scholars. It was at MSU where he met his wife of 57 years, Elaine Rosko. They had a spectacular life together and raised 3 successful and happy children. The first two (Mike and Linda) were born in Valdosta, GA where Mike was a pilot in the Airforce. Later transitioning to a Procurement Officer. At this time the family was stationed at Moody Airforce base. After his discharge from the Airforce, he secured a purchasing position at Burroughs in Plymouth, MI and moved the family to MI. This is where Pat was born. His career took them around the country and to such places as France, Scotland and Mexico.
He and Elaine eventually settled the family in Livonia, MI in 1976. The
family flourished there, and Mike and Elaine became very involved in their church, St. Edith. Mike was a beloved member of the St. Edith choir for many years and enjoyed lifelong friendships. After his retirement in 2000 he and Elaine did some traveling and he increased his time on the course, eventually active in two golf leagues. When Elaine passed in 2020 Mike became even more involved with his children and 5 grand children’s lives. He never missed a family function and was a welcome member on all family vacations and t-times. His friends, St. Edith family, fellow choir members and golfing buddies enjoyed their times together. Mike was always “IN” for all things.
He will be deeply missed by us all.
