Robert Edgar Waling

Age 81, formerly of Livonia, MI, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023.  He is survived by his wife Judy; children Bob (Kim) Waling, Sue Drake (Mark), Jim (Lori) Waling, and Sarah (Drew) Vaughn; as well as grandchildren Logan (Megan), Sydney, Samantha, Nicolas (Hailey), Evan, Brooke, Brady, Sibley, Blaire, and Collin; great grandchildren Maverick and Lillian; siblings Peg (Larry) Smith, Carole (Amil) Baker, and Tom (Deb) Mannion; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Barb & Jim Grondin. He selflessly dedicated his service to our country by code breaking in Vietnam.  He made lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers from Ford Motor Company.

Bob was well known for his variety of interests.  Throughout the years he shared with his family and friends sunrises over Lake Huron, camping outings, his love of Bluegrass music and festivals, his enthusiasm of country western dancing, and his adventures on cross-country car and motorcycle trips.  He was known to always show up at gatherings with an infectious smile, fill the room with love and laughter, entertain others with his stories, and always knew how to make ice cream happen.  He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
