I posted a photo of Gary holding the "200 mph" Dominator carb. I brought it over and he worked on it in the basement. He told me about the jetting changes during the record run by Buddy Baker and other adjustments he made to it in 1970.
It was a thrill to be there for me! We also talked Lionel trains, another longtime interest of his, and mine. I'll miss him...
p.s. John - I sent a hi rez version of this pic to your work email late last year, after I had called. Take care.

I met Gary when I was hired in to Chrysler in the mid-70s and stationed at the Proving Grounds in Carburetion Engineering.
He was both a friend and a mentor and helped me a great deal in understanding the complexities of calibration of carburetors for mass production in those early emissions days.
He unfailingly had a great sense of humor and keen wit, without which I think we would have all gone crazy!
I have fond memories of helping him build Dominator carburetors for Herb Adams engines in TransAm in our "spare" time.
I will miss him and I am sure everyone whom he touched with his association in car and engine stuff will miss him.

I got to know Gary while working at Chrysler Proving Grounds Carburetor Lab. He was a super guy. We made popcorn at break time and Gary liked it so he brought in a 50 Pound bag several times. He didn't want us to run out.

Gary has been a good friend since I was hired at Chrysler in 1977. He has always made a lasting positive impression to me as a young engineer and was a very helpful, kind and overall a wonderful person to be around with, both professionally and socially. I will surely miss him.

John and family, you have our deepest condolences. Gary was a first class guy in every thing he did. It was my pleasure to know and work with him. We will miss him at our coney dog lunches.
