I have a lot of wonderful memories of my childhood with Dad.
Moving into the house on Faust in Rosedale Park it was like moving from a shack to a mansion. I’ll never forget all of the great times we shared there, including him teaching us how to operate our first motorized lawn mower, and special instructions on shoveling snow with the “coal shovel”.
Dad also provided us lots of fun stuff, the toboggan for Rouge Park and various other hills around the neighborhood, my first 3-speed Schwinn bicycle, the basketball hoop on the garage, and the tetherball pole in the driveway.
Some of my fondest memories were learning and working in Dad’s architectural offices with him and Rick, the cottage in Lexington where we spent most of the summers, trips on the Bob-Lo boat to the island, fresh tamales that he picked up from Mexican Town on occasions, and the family Bell Isle picnics which included canoeing.
Dad was pretty strict and had rules to follow but we were taught that so we can apply it when we got older. He taught me everything I know about architectural and engineering and got me the job that started my career in automotive plants. He always went above and beyond to provide us all the things that we needed even though it was not his responsibility.
Dad was an important part of my life and I will cherish every minute of it, thanks for sharing him with me.
Tom

Our condolences to the family, and especially Lisa & David.
The LORD bless thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
You have been, and will always be in our prayers.
With love, and especially the love of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.
"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;" Tt 2:13

Mitch was there when I was born as his family lived downstairs from us on the east side below Jefferson in what was a Filipino neighborhood in the 1920-50's. We were one big family. He babysat for my brothers and I and was a close friend until his passing. He taught me jazz guitar and more than that how to enjoy life. He was a constant visitor through my married life and treated us (myself, and wife and 3 children) to more wonderful oriental meals than could ever be counted. We loved and miss him dearly. God be with you Mitch.

Six years in November since Mitch left earth and hardly a day has gone by we haven't missed his being part of our life. I hope God let him have a golden guitar instead of the harp.
